Canon SD850 IS Digital Camera – Still a Solid Choice

The SD850 IS is one of the newer digital cameras being offered by Canon today. It features a Canon Zoom lens with a 4 times optical zoom, integrated image stabilization and has an aperture of 2.8-5.5. it is also said to combine several of the elements that are found in the classic Digital Elph line of lenses in the company's earlier designed lenses. This new feature is then coupled with the new line of processors called Digic III image processing devices and the result is said to be cleaner and sharper pictures even in lowlight conditions.

The skin of the camera is textured metal which gives the hands ample grip.  Underneath this exterior is an 8 MP CCD sensor capable of capturing a fairly usable photo even when printed on a legal size pad of photo paper. Helping out in the internal processing of the image is the new Digic III image processor, which is said to be an ample improvement from the past Digic processors.

The lens of the camera is flat inside its body until it is turned on, in which case the lens folds out telescopically in three segments. Though the zooming capability of the lens is till limited to 4 times of magnification as opposed to the common 5 times, it still holds its own in the market in this price range.

The clear view LCD, which has been improved to a 23 kilo pixel resolution from the old 17 kilo pixel model, is of the 2.5 inch variety which is the most common nowadays in a lot of digital cameras. The LCD is slightly to the left of the back of the body to make way for the nine function buttons which control the shooting modes such as night mode, portrait, anti blur, image stabilization, fireworks mode and the all new Aquarium mode.

Face detection and a quick auto focus mode have also been improved in this new line. It is further improved with a high ISO setting of up to 1600 which is said to be still a low pixel noise, the banding and dusty like appearance of pictures when there is very little light in the photo.

This digital camera is also able to capture movies in its movie mode as well as stills in up to 2.1 frames per second. The movie recording of this camera is up to one hour in a standard 4 gigabyte SD card but it can be prolonged by setting the movie into a time lapse mode of .5 per second. In effect, this will allow you to shoot a movie even in low light at a lower 15 frame per second rather than the normal 30 frames per second.

All Canon digital camera repair, if needed, should only be made at a specialized digital camera repair center online or at specialty shops and stores.  Canon does offer factory repair but most often they are the most expensive option available. Always make sure to compare pricing between shops before you have your camera repaired so that you know you are getting a good deal.

All in all, the Canon SD850 IS continues to be a very popular camera with people looking for a point and shoot camera they can carry with them anywhere. With its easy to use features and great quality photos I do recommend keeping the SD850 IS on your list of possibilities if you are currently shopping for a camera.

Call of Duty 5 Review

This is a game that many people have waited for and this in this Call of Duty 5 review I will try to explain the pros and cons of this game. As most of you already know in COD5 we go back to WWII again. Personally I like the WWII more since the weapons are just right (not too powerful and not ancient).

Call of Duty 5 Graphics

I must say that the graphics in this game was amazing. The characters are pretty equal to COD4 characters with some improvements. Overall this is just what I expected; slightly better graphics than Call of Duty 4.

Sound

The voice acting is even better than before. The accents are authentic and give the game a very realistic feeling.

Call of Duty 5 Game Modes

Here we have all the usual game modes. Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Sabotage and some other. This is pretty much all you need and I don't see any reason to invent lots of strange game modes. It always causes the balance in the game to get ruined and the CTF game mode is the best so far.

Game Play

In this Call of Duty review the game play is the most important factor. In this game you get a persistent score that keeps track of your experience at all times. When you level up you get better weapons and perks. One cool thing is when you get 3 kills you get a recon plane overhead. When you get 5 kills you can call the artillery. I really like these added things that give a feeling of a real war and makes things more random. In some games like this you get into a “robotic mode” but in COD5 you have to be ready for everything.

All in all this is a great game and a must have on any platform. If you like these kinds of games you should defiantly get this and if you don’t like these games you shouldn’t be reading this Call of Duty review:)

LG Lotus Cell Phone Review

This is the new amazing LG Lotus cell phone from Sprint. It might look a bit “square” but the design is really unique. The LG Lotus has a really nice feeling in your hand and the internal display is great. It has an external music player controls and the keyboard is fitted really nice and the buttons are very easy to press. Just make sure you know that the keyboard on this phone is not QWERTY.

The LG Lotus is small and sleek and measures 3.3 inches wide, 2.4 inches tall and 0.7 inches thick. It comes in satin black and purple colored. It also has the latest Sprint One Click User Interface with a 2 megapixel camera, EV-DO and stereo Bluetooth. The camera can take pictures in four different resolutions 1600x1200, 1280x960, 640x480 and 320x240. All in all the LG Lotus cell phone is a higher end messaging phone. If you are looking for a great looking phone with lots of cool features, this is the deal. Keep in mind that the Lotus doesn’t support Outlook Exchange e-mail.
